Communication and Education
Science communication is an important part of my
interests, I try to engage in popular science leading fiel trip and working with the
press. This means that research results are more likely to reach the public,
who ultimately fund the research.
I regularly give talks to elementary school students
on “Amphibians way of life”, “wetland ecosystems”, “being a biologist”, and
have also participated in several field courses on natural history and
herpetology for a broad public with local and national associations.
I made conferences in Nocturnia Museum, and during the RAMSAR
exhibitions organized by our Master student (which I led the organization).
I led four field trips to observe amphibians at the
request of students from Anua (student Association of Naturalist at the University of Angers). As part of "Sustainable
Development Week” at the University
of Angers, I was
responsible for animations about Biodiversity.
These communications were the occasion to present our research programs to public and also to Regional deputies to defend our grants (CG08).
In Finland our work on Common frogs from Lapland was exposed in the national journal SEURA at the end of 2012
I also gave a small contribution on the exposition "Climate change in Lapland's nature" organized at the National Museum of Lapland, Rovaniemi, in 2013:
